This was a secret? How could it be? It's part of this server, for heaven's sake! Notice the URL: www.WORDSMITH.ORG/anagram. When I first saw this game, I thought it was a tie-in to the anagram page. This has been a nice chuckle for me.... laugh

Sorry, tsuwm, but this is particularly egregious, as this was used just a few posts ago! No free pass on this one, we're back to my (didn't I just use a bunch of...)

I looked back and saw 'constrain' - is that considered the same word, or didn't I look far enough?

It is only 13 posts back from yours (and only 2 word changes), and I only mentioned what I do to avoid repeats in case someone might find it useful.

thought it might be 'cheating' Me too--that's why I noted that I used it. Above about seven letters I'm really no good at anagrams.

Don't not generalize Ironic One, just a few ain't Everyone.

"Let us not bow our heads, and it's no use constraining,
Life has been good to us all, even if that sky is raining,
To take it with a grain of salt,
is all I can do it's no one's fault,
makes no diff'rence if we fade away.
It's just as it was, it's much too cold for me to stay.."

Love your new pic, Bran! Is it a swallow? It looks big, but you can't tell from an isolated sky shot, so I'm thinking it might not be so big. :0)

Thank you so much. That makes my day. Would that more would
ignore me. By the way, sentences still begin by capitalizing
the first letter of the first word.

...my last post about the word we are moving from was wrong. It's not CONSTRAINT, but RECONSTRAINT. Rather than simply add an S, I have chosen to remove an N, which scrambles up to what I've done in the plural form:

RETRACTIONS

Now, let's take it from there! :0)

RETRACTIONS

I hesitate to change A to I, perhaps removing another

RESTRICTION, because I'm really not sure it gets us anywhere...

Bran listed a new state to the ones she has visited.
Says it reminds her of the Netherlands.

But never left a footprint there. Grounded for three hours at Grand Rapids Airport, due to a thunderstorm over O'Hare. Two scary interrupted approaches makes me fear thunderstorms more now than N to R TERRORISTIC threats.
Still I add Michigan to my list.

To get out of the 3 R's (hopeless) in order to get rid of one , it needs a stepping stone. Via (legal) (S to D) TERRITORIED to (R to Y) DETERIORITY ( which it may possibly be, dunno). It needs cutting down the number of letters. (?)who.

If only this organism would devour one of these organic letters.
Y to V > > DETRITIVORE
wasn't there once someone called wofaholicodoc?

This was started on 10/23/08 by coffeebean with the word 'brain'.
Could we in a last combined effort bring it back to a five letter word before or on the 23 and blow it to kingdom come?

Ooh, that would be...fitting. A thread that lasted exactly a year! Amazing.

Ok--I won't even try to put which, or how many, letters were saved/lost/changed, but I'll go with
RETRIEVED.

It's gotta be shorter!

At least I TRIED.

It's getting ahead of ourselves, since the 23rd isn't until eleven days from now, but it would be fitting to come back to BRAIN at one year, with Coffeebean doing the honors. (Can we refrain from doing it immediately?!)

And unless people are truly getting tired of this, there's no reason to end it at one year. We might however learn a lesson: too many letters gives too few choices, and too little room to maneuver, and can spoil the game.
