Is there a word that is opposite of oncoming? I need a word to express the phrase 'approaching from behind.'

Overtaking doesn't quite work. Perhaps I don't need approaching from behind, perhaps I need "approaching from behind, or being and staying behind" The sentence is: Both oncoming and from behind, these headlight cause dangerous glare [for other drivers]....

"Approaching from either the front or the rear..."?
