Tamarind is a lovely ingredient that, mixed with brown suger, enhanches the taste of certain Indonesian recipes. I read 'tamarind season' as seasoned with tamarind, so positive.

not so positive, I'm afraid..
In 'Tamarind Season' the fruits on the tamarind tree encased in their hard brown shells are used as a metaphor for the spinster woman (though, in Jamaican culture, 'tamarind season' is also a more generalised reference to hard times). - link

(you probly wouldn't use tamarind as a lone spice.)

Thereīs a lot more to tamarind that meets the mind then, thanks.
No, tamarind is never used as a lone spice. They also make
confectionary with it. If thatīs the right word for sweets.
