Hang on, let's get the roolz again please?
Is it scramble and add OR delete (one only)?
Or can you scramble and add AND delete, or in other words substitute (which is what we've done several times)?

If it's only the former then we're stumped with COMPACT
But since we used the latter to get from APOMICT (COMPAIT, COMPAT, COMPACT) presumably we can use the latter?

DUNNO. I've taken it to be scramble and add or delete only one. So you don't bring in or delete two letters in one change. but.......other idea's? As far as I can see wofahu has changed an I for a C and scrambled.Looks alright to me.

This was the original proposal as set forth by coffeebean:

You may add or delete only one letter, and you may scramble the letters to form a new word.

Ha, ! here is where it gets complicated for me. When you have changed an I for a C , have you then deleted and added one and scrambled or.....? Or have you just changed one and scrambled?

you may change a letter. you may also delete or add a letter. you may also change the order of the letters.

all of those things can happen in one round.

least that's how I read the roolz.

but you know me and roolz. read my double dactyls if you don't/

a change == an add + a delete
so the roolz allow two adds + a delete, or two deletes + an add

I'm sure I've seen two changes (two adds + two deletes); but who can keep track?!

I think I disagree. you can add a letter. you can delete a letter. you can change a letter, but I don't think you can add two letters, nor delete two. nor change more than one.

eh?
