anybody know whether the urdu alvida have anythin to do with the iconic hasta la vista by way of videre, to see?

Probably not. Urdu alwidā 'farewell' is probably a combination of Urdu al (from the first sura of the Quran, al ḥamdu lillāhi 'praise be to God') "said previous to blowing upon a person's face in order to preserve him from evil influences", plus the common Hindi-Urdu word bidā or vidā 'farewell; permission to depart' which is probably related to Sanskrit bidala or vidala 'split (asunder), dividing, rending'.
