Assuming you were referring to deriviatives, nope. Microsoft had nothing to do with it. It was done using Firefox on a Linux system.

I wasn't. I was referring to Olly's post. I could have sworn he said "there" instead of "their" - either he edited his post or (more likely) I'm just seeing things.

He did write "there", and you could have made the point by quoting him.

I have considered, usually fleetingly, how much to use the reason for editing field as a confessional of compositional shortcomings, or any other failures or transgressions. There may be a character limit.

Quite. There are some real 'characters' around here. And some of them know no limits.

I'm still trying to figure out what character-shaping influences the board architecture has on participants here. One architectural fact is that any post to a thread, post original thread post, is directed at someone else—unless directed at oneself, if one has posted to the thread. The unavoidable engagement could wither the psyche, or cultivate a marauding monster, or have any of a number of character-shaping effects. I'm not suggesting any such thing has happened to any thread-present company—or hasn't.
