I love words! I just ran across something where if you text: DAILYWORD to 41411, you get the Word of the Day sent straight to your cellphone everyday. It's pretty cool...

Today's word was: UBIQUITOUS

Pronunciation: u·biq·ui·tous
–adjective
existing or being everywhere, esp. at the same time; omnipresent: ubiquitous fog; ubiquitous little ants.

The word of the day here happens to be 'meshuga '.
Never mind me. I'm one of the few last Mohicans living without a cellphone.

I'd heard the word "meshugena" before, but not known it's meaning or proper spelling. There's a person at my kids' school with a license plate that reads "meshuga" which I thought might either be a misspelling or a shortening.

My curiosity never stayed in my mind long enough to look it up.

meshugena , in two dictionaries : meaning crazy person.
Like meshuga means crazy, the licence plate word may have been chosen on purpose.

Usually there's a limit to the number of characters you can get on a personalized plate. It might be as high as eight but probably not as high as nine.

Which is why the plate reads MESHUGA and not MESHUGENA.

Oh, glorious abbreviations! Thanks Anna, that's a familiair language I see on that site. Funny! But eh ,strange too.
Oh, well I don't understand those things. Hide it from the kids stuff.

Thanks . It's on the abbr. that I stumble more than on the language an sich.
