that's why I didn't open today's WordI hadn't looked at it until after I'd read this post. As an omnivore who grew up on a farm, I didn't feel particularly harangued. (Others may be more sensitive.)
Factory farming gets over 300K ghits, so I'm not so sure why it shouldn't be included in a lexicon of late 20th century or early 21st century English.
