Oh yes. My biggest problem in looking up a word is remembering which word I am looking up before I get lost in the pages. I just wish I had a better memory for the new words I find, since I usually don't have occasion to use them immediately.

emanuela, juanmaria... all these variations have merely tergiversated slightly from the Latin root tergiversari - to turn one's back, shuffle, practise evasion

I love leafing through a dictionary, not only for the pleasure of finding new words, but also for the etymology of words I already know. I really should get an OED or at least an etymological dictionary. Can anybody recommend one?
