Late in occurring, forming, or flowering.
Sounds like it ought to mean an angel having the appearance of a toddler who feels really well after ingesting certain nostrums

I wondered, is this word related to Serotonin? The sero in serotine is from Latin serus, late. The sero in serotonin is from serum.

Besides the masculine-neuter difference in the gender of the two nouns, the former has a long ē and the latter a short e.
