Is it true that no language has a term for parents mourning their offspring? Hebrew "Shakul" is a father mourning his child. "Shekulah" is a mother mourning her child. "Shekulim" are parents mourning their son or daughter. Compare Genesis 27.48 and 43.14; Jeremiah 18.21 & Proverbs 17.12. Isn't it? CBM

I can't believe Anu did an exhaustive search -- maybe he meant to say that no such word exists in English. but perhaps we can prove that to be wrong!

No single word exists in Dutch either. What we have closest to one word is two words. In translation: mourning or berieved mother/father/parents. Rouwende of berooide moeder/vader/ouders.
Maybe all languages evolved through latin don't have the single word?
