Recreate? In a philosofical sense there is always something that is destroyed when something new is created.Do you have a context for this word?

I was surprised to find that "Reform" also comes remarkably close
I found it by entering "destroy in order to create" in OneLook's reverse dictionary, but I don't necessarily recommend this approach except to those very determined and patient

OD I think the 'obvious' answer is reverse engineering, but perhaps you're seeking something.. metaphorical? overhaul recondition make over revolutionize(!) incorporate(!?) assimilate ( resistance is futile) merge normalize : ) - joe (new and improved) friday

I always use "reincarnate" meaning being born into a new body after the death of the old.
