Is the word 'Humile' an acceptable ensemble of letters?

e.g. He has a rather humile nature about him

FWIW, I've never heard it nor seen it till now. Not that I remember, anyway. Sounds like it means slightly moist, in a dirty (literally, composed of dirt) way. BTW, it's not in the AHD4.
