Another Sea bird of note was the Albatross
At length did cross an Albatross,
Thorough the fog it came ;
As if it had been a Christian soul,
We hailed it in God's name.
The Rime of the Ancient Mariner - Samuel Taylor Coleridge
The Albatross was seen as an omen of Good luck to some seafarers.
Woe betide anyone who dares shoot them with a crossbow.
