Is he seriously suggesting that regional spelling should replace "class" spelling? Personally I pronounce father as fa(w)ther not as fa(y)thur. Just imagine how different the spelling would be between say Kentucky and Seattle. Or even between Manhatten and the Bronx. And I thought those annoyingly long lists of letters in text messaging (IMNSHO took me a week to figure out) were confusing. The Tower of Babel strikes again. (IMHO )
