It's "MY" mispronunciation of the town name. One hesitates to ask directions because you know the correction is coming!

Well, I've waited a couple of days to enter this thread, so taken aback was I to see my name in cyber-lights! Chickie, I'm real good at grammar. I don't get a lot of jokes, though ['stern-look-at-CapK' emoticon]

I'm thinking about "beau-tee-ful" but I've heard a lot of folk from different places pronounce it this way, so I dunno where it is a linguistic marker. Please tell me! One of my thangs is US regional dialects....

Add to that, most of the South-western counties of UK - where the cider comes from.
