There seems to be a whole class of exprs for which it's hard to find definitions, esp metaphors and blends. "Jackdaw", an example of the former, in the meaning of collector, is a typical example. Of the former, "sidetalk". In spite of 9000 Ghits, this expr doesn't appear in the usu dictionaries, except

...as UD, whatever else you may think of it, is often the first to recognize a new usage
