Another available option is the "~," which protects a motor coach against the effects of sun and weather--Real estate ad

Evidently it's a sort of awning for a patio or carport, and is often aluminum. In spite of the caps apparently it's not an active trademark but has been largely genericized

Can anyone confirm--Thanks kindly

Edited to use init caps

And how can you tell whether the tilde is capitalized or not?

If it's big enough to cover an RV it'd better be capitalized.

Wanted: Editors for Urban Dictionary, (and assorted other on line dictionaries)
Salary: NONE Use your time, your computer, your High Speed access or dial up minutes to contribute to a project your not really interested in.
Benefits: you get to use your "~" on the computer.
Fringe benefits: you'll have more time to devote to project as progress, since you'll alienate new people you meet, at the same time you alienate old friends and relatives.

Thanks all, and forgive me for bubbling this back up, but has anyone actually heard the expr or better yet can cite a definitive link without necessarily performing a tedious Gsearch

TEd: Thank you for that lnk. However, I had hop[ed to elicit responses having a wider range of meaning. So far, I am rapidly concluding that the expr is yet too obscure to count as a neologism

Forgive me for once more bubbling this one back up, I won't make it a habit, but by chance in the meantime might somebody have encountered a more definitive link

Thans all once again
