I was recently sent a question that I wondered if any of you could help with it. "WHAT IS THE LONGEST WORD THAT ALL THE LETTERS ARE IN ALPHABETICAL ORDER. IT MUST BE IN THE OXFORD ENGLISH DICTIONARY". My friends and I have racked our brains but have only been able to come up with `horst' so far and I think there is a longer word than this.

Thanks for any help.

Welcome aBoard, NL. I googled and this is what popped up:

aegilops

I'm assuming it's in the OED, but I don't have access. Stick around, put your feet up and enjoy. We're mostly harmless unless you happen to have a mouthful of beverage at the wrong moment.

These ones are definitely in the OED, and a little more common too:

accent, almost, billowy.

I quite like 'chillloss' as a suggestion, but I don't think that has secured a spot either in the OSPD2+ or OED.
