I don't know what you base this statement on, Dale. OED still prefers hard copy citations, and only reluctantly is starting to consider online sources (and usually only online versions of brick & mortar artifices; e.g. The Times online).
unless, of course, this is just your prediction of the future.
edit: unless, of course, you are basing this on the fact that ole J. Murray threw everything, including the kitchen sink, into the 1st edition. I'm told they no longer follow his policy of adding words which have no evidence of usage.
p.s. - there are real words, I've found, which are not documented in OED2. (for instance, Mencken coined a good many words, some of which found their way into the Big Book of Words, and some of which were rejected -- a particular favorite of mine that failed to make the cut is ombibulous, referring to someone who drinks anything. ombibulous currently registers only 137 ghits, so I guess it fails your test too.)
editē - likewise boobocracy, but 300 ghits (and at least 15 actual books, according to Google[Books]).
