Yeah, me too, I think the movie took certain liberties...but I do believe that the adult Mozart would be dismayed by the dearth of free Internet offerings of his music. Damn capitalist pigs. Mozart belongs to the World, not copy writing politicians.

Yeahbut -- the artists who perform the music also belong to the present world and without being paid for their efforts they wouldn't perform the works.

You are John Galt, Faldage. And here on these pristine pages you are not supposed to espouse John Galtisms!

Cos I know little Latin and less Greek and 'cos the subject lines gets truncated, my first thought when I saw the abocve subject was that somebody's cat had died in South Africa.

Ever stop to think that Amadeus is the same name as Gottlieb? Not to mention Dorothy/Dorothea and Theodore?

I read somewhere that Wolfie never once used Amadeus, preferring Amadé over the Gottlieb he was given at birth.

Oh, sure. Correct Ledasdottir's spelling. That's kind of like improving the plotline of the Manhattan telephone book.

And I read he tried out Theophilus along the way.
(Yes, Jackie, isn't that a great Google header??)

That's the onliest thing I know from whatever book John Galt is from. The onlier other thing I know about Ayn Rand is in one of her books she postulated some civilization that was under the thrall of some repressive regime, everybody had phone numbers for names, and someone stumbled across the word capitalism written on a piece of paper in a cave somewhere and saw the light and was thereby freed from all his indoctrination.

and i was responding to Wolf comments above about Dorothy and Theodore!
the amount i greek i know is scant, but i do know phil(vowel) is a greek root for love (as found in philadelphia and anglophile...i don't alway know recognize the subtle difference the vowels imply (seeming to be related to the laten declentions (that faldage and others go on about..
ama, amas.. amore.. got know it Love
(is it i love you or you love me? or i am in love with the idea of love? one of those.. i handn't thought about amadeus as being love of god (even thought the sunday's past NYTimes cross word was dedicated to wolfie..)

Dear Faldage,
Ayn Rand is murky.
To her eternal disconnect, she didn't know who John Galt was either.
Ayn Rand was a woman.

The sentence you reference, grumpy Faldage, is the denouement of the two sentences that went before.
Do you not understand high literary style or are you merely calling my grandmother an egg sucking dog?

I had a button, in my youth, that read: "Ayn Rand is Ronald Reagan in drag."

Pardon the rudeness of my egg-sucking reply, Faldotage, but your idiom is older than dirt and we of the 21st Century can't be expected to recognize the quaint folk sayings you all learned in the 19th Century.
You see, we have fish to fry and things to bang and the future looms endlessly ahead.
