Cross hand grab, Grab the attacker's hand at the wrist as if grabbing a baseball bat. ... www.lrsm.upenn.edu/~felice/penntkd/stepspar.htmlBut I'd never heard it. Is it mostly a rightpond expression

Hey eatoin, I had always referred to (and used) that as an American Indian handshake.
Anyone?

I thought this was going to be about piano playing not sports. A cross-hand excercise or piece is one in which you play one or more notes with one hand (arm really) crossed over the other, i.e. either playing the high notes with the left hand or the low notes with the right.

musick: yeah, I've called it that, too. I was just trying to describe the action.
myridon: I had that thought, too.
