Afternoon delight

Started out this morning feeling so polite
I always though a fish could not be caught who wouldn’t bite
But you’ve got some bait a waitin’ and I think I might try nibbling
a little afternoon delight.

sheeeesh... ok, nows I gots tah splice three together...
Ok, taking the ‘man’ from Love lies bleeding, the ‘dollar’ from Dixieland Delight, and eta’s ‘fish’ can get us back to grand unified theory of song…

A man without a woman is like a ship without a sail,
A boat without a rudder or a fish without a tail,
A man without a woman is like a wreck upon the sand,
There's only one thing worse in the universe
That's a woman without a man.
A woman without a man.

You can throw a silver dollar down upon the ground,
And it will roll, because it's round.
A woman never knows what a good man she's got,
Until she turns him down,

So listen, my honey, listen to me
I want you to understand
That as a SILVER DOLLAR goes from hand to hand
A woman goes from man to man,
A woman goes from man to man.

No, it wasn't the Lovin' Spoonful, they did Nashville Cats. This was a real live spoof.

Edit: oops, this was a supposed to be a late-night PM.

If I had a boat
I'd go out on the ocean
And if I had a pony
I'd ride him on my boat
And we could all together
Go out on the ocean
Me upon my pony on my boat

He makes it look so easy
He looks so clean
He moves like God's
Immaculate machine
He makes me thing about
All these extra moves I make
And all this herky-jerky motion
And the bag of tricks it takes
To get me through my working day

My starter won't start this mornin'
And I'm about to lose my mind
My starter won't start this mornin'
And I'm about to lose my mind

I wanna go and see my little baby
But my machine is all outa time.

I got water in my gas tank
and my battras all run down
I got water in my gas tank
and my battras all run down

If I don't see my little baby
I'm gonn' leave this lonesome town.

My starter won't start this mornin'
And my car won't do a thing
My starter won't start this mornin'
No my car won't even sing

(classic line)
I must begot some kind of bad disconnection
Somewhere in my piston ring.

My Starter Won't Start

[ingroup extension for wholegroup hugginess]My previous song was originally encountered in an earlier lifetime when hunting down the prime origins of the famous "fish on a bicycle" quotation - and the two names I used here are idents of two posters from waybackwhen, much missed but... suggested by the fish/bicycle/shanks' pony warp in my brain...[/hug]

We now return you to your scheduled programming.

But you ran out of gas
Down the road a piece
Then the battery went dead
And now the cable won't reach...

It's your last chance
To check under the hood
Last chance
She ain't soundin' too good,
Your last chance
To trust the man with the star
You've found the last chance Texaco

Last chance lost--
In the tyranny of a long good-bye
Last chance lost--
We talk of us with deadly earnest eyes
Last chance lost--
We talk of love in terms of sacrifice and compromise
Last chance -
Last chance lost
