Language colours vision

The left brain may view the world through the prism of language.

Charlotte Schubert

The language-loving left hemisphere of the brain can spot different colours faster than it can identify different shades of the same colour.

Our perception of colours can depend on whether we view them from the left or the right, scientists have found. They say this demonstrates how language can alter the way we see the world.....

Thanks for the link, AnnaS!

The relationships (dependencies, perhaps) of all the senses seem to be suggested as any questions are asked as to the true nature of thought(crossthreading-e)... as each of us show more or less development through nurture. My hearing makes me focus just as my sight makes me hear or listen for. Certainly a clearer, possibly more direct connection with language that sights and sounds offer is manifest through humor.

On perception, have all y'all come across the German site from which my delicious heading comes?!

Great site, Maverick, thank you for passing it on.

May ten thousand happy hours visit you in 2006 and only one unhappy one.

I think you're right, pedro: I get all kinds of interesting effects on that with my LCD display, but decidedly no colour effects.
