I think this might come up if I do a proper search, but I really don't have the time at the moment, sorry. Also, I think it's a quick question to answer for USonians: What does GOP stand for?

Oh my! You don't say!You know, somebody actually told me this and I thought they were pulling my leg!
!! I thought it must stand for something more "official", since I saw it in newspapers all the time... This will teach me, definitely.

So, now the second question (sorry!), is GOP applied only to the Republican Party, or can they all be referred to as "Grand Old Party"?
