the ridiculous language employed by a well-meaning priest trying to differentiate between remembering lots of brave men and women in dignity yet without glorifying the horrific acts of war...

You have my sympathy in trying, good father. I think Anglicans in the UK suffer a burden doubled by dint of the strange link between church and state ~ but since this is getting dangerously near both religion AND politics I will gracefully withdraw before Mz J spanks me!
