Nefandous words are best left nefandous, don't you think? Er...would that be nef-an-dous or ne-fan-dous or ne-fand-ous? Not that I would ever be caught dead saying "nefandous". Hey Father Steve! I'll be sleeping in Seattle for a week next july at a National Speleological Society convention. Can you get me a Get-out-of-jail-free card for that week?

I pronounce it ineffable.
There is another synonym of Latin nefandus which is infandus (from infer). Cf. infans 'infant; speechless' and nefans 'impious, heinous', and fandus 'speaking', all from for 'to speak', whence also fabula 'story, tale'.
Ceci n'est pas un seing.

You may be assured that the syllables forming "nefandous" have never ever passed my lips, dead or alive.

Going by Spanish and my bit of Latin, I'd say ne-fan-dous, but I may be wrong.
