This word appears in a definition on a certain "worthless words" site , thusly: wit, repartee; liveliness; urbanity This would seem to give urbanity a positive connotation. What I'd like to know is: does rurality then have a negative connotation?

Sometimes one "opposite" is hiding another:
from the OED:
1898 Maitland Township & Borough 13 A difference between..urbanity and rusticity.
