I'm a little surprised that Anu did not add the description of "a group of lovely ladies" for bevy. Though it isn't something I hear everyday, it is still common enough to be recognizable.

Has anybody else ever heard of this meaning?

I was about the respond that the phrase "bevy of beauties" sounded antique, until I found that there are 40,200 Google hits for this phrase. Who knew?
