What did (do) you call your grandparents? I am nana, to my granddaughter, as my grandmother was nana to me, Her other grandmother is Lola, (the Tagalot term for the same). My grandfather was Pop; he was Da to his own children. Never knew my maternal grandfather. My father's mother was also "Grandma", although it was usually elided to "Gramma". My father's father was "Granda" - elided from "Grand-da", "da" being common in Ireland where we would say "dad". My father gets "Grampa", elided from "Grandpa" from his grandchildren. My maternal grandmother, who lived with us for many years, received the pet shortened form "Abu". My parents are "Mamá" and "Papá" for me, but interestingly my Mom is still "Baby" for her older brother, and my Dad is "Kid" for his older sister! My kids called their maternal grandparents Busia and Grandpa, and the paternal set Grammy and Papa. Their paternal great grandfather was Dziadzie (roughly, "jahjee").
