The move was illegal, because it didn't follow Max's, which came just before it (at least, not that I could see).
I propose a rule that asides should be discouraged, but -- where unavoidable (seldom, hopefully) -- allowed only in the context of play: no one should post commentary if it doesn't follow a move in the same post).
