A recent exchange I had with a Carpal Tunnel prompted me to write a limerick for the word "ancipital" - please see below.
"Ancipital", a new word for me, is one of the few "a" words left without a limerick in the OEDILF.com database [Omnificent English Dictionary In Limerick Form].
Therefore, my "ancipital" limerick posted here, does ancipital ["two-headed"] duty.
Dictionary.com ancipital adj.
Of or being two-headed or two-edged Source: The American HeritageŽ Stedman's Medical Dictionary
A slur is a double-edged sword And many a wee mouse has roared When cut with that blade - Ancipital trade In insults brings zero reward.
Author's Note:
One + One adds up to "zero" when trading insults. No-one wins. Everyone loses. In the words of another venerable adage: "Two wrongs don't make a right."
