I saw a Daddy long legs (is this the common name around the English-speaking world?) trapped in a spider's web yesterday. I've never seen a spider caught in another spider's web before. Are Dlls spiders?
well there is a thing popularly called a daddy long legs spider, but it is not the same as the daddy-long-legs:

interesting link, dxb, but I think it posed more questions than it answered! I was going to mention Harvestman (men?), because I think that's what we more commonly see around here, (and on the Great Plains) but if there are 3500 species, who knows!
formerly known as etaoin...
Wow, dixbie! What an informative site! (just wish I had my old 3-D glasses). What we have here, then, are the harvestmen, the ones with the single ovoid body and no discernible head. That's what I saw caught in a smaller spider's web. I think I have seen the other kind, though, maybe in Brazil? I'll carry on with the researching.
