He was a news commentator on radio back in the mid 1940s, and there was even a full-page advertisement for his radio show in one of the national magazines of the time (I think Life Magazine). He was at WNOX in Knoxville, which is where I was born. Anyway, he ended each of his programs, "Lager, folks." (One of the preceding paragraphs is mainly true, the other one is completely false!)
