Your post got me thinking, Helen. (uh-oh!!). I thought Candlemas was Feb 2, one of the cross-quarter days (the other correspondents being Halloween, May Day and Lammas). Maybe Father Steve could be lured down here to these uncharted waters to splain us why Candlemas has two dates.
