How do all-y’all pronounce this word? the rules predict everything about bachelor except the loss of the middle vowel(from an interesting site linked by Flatlander’s lungfish reference: Hou tu pranownse Inglish) http://www.zompist.com/spell.html

I say bachelor with three syllables. I was, until now, unaware that the middle vowel is omitted by some people.

I say batch-ler, with the requisite time it takes for the tongue to move back for the second flap.
How do y'all say "bachelorette"? I mean, I don't even say that word, but.

I would say it with a demi schwa, or probably even a hemidemischwa. And I say that without quavering.

Pronounced almost like Faldage's schematic when used in a descriptive noun phrase, but spoken with the addition of a postpositional syllable when describing a human condition...
BATCH-ler-ER.

There once was a sad Spanish bachelor Who waged war with a battered egg spatula: He crisps cakes on the heat, But then drops at his feet, The tosser’s just lost a whole batch – hola!

Nice one Mav A cute little Spanish chicita said "you use too much heat, a solution would be leave the cooking to me and find me some other nice treat. Ah!"

BATCH-eh-lurr. Admittedly the second one goes by right quick, but it is definitely there.
