This evening, I came across the word angst. Now, the writer meant it in its deepest sense, but I confess that my first reaction was, "Oh, no, not that tired old cliché again".
Does it often happen that words get so over-used that their "worth" (in getting across the meaning as it was originally intended) is diminished? Is this a good thing? Are there other words this has happened to?
