While trying to find an acceptable adjective form for 'garbology' (didn't), I noticed that the word 'garbage' had come from the Middle English word meaning 'the offal of fowls' (AHD). It's interesting to think that what once was the offal of birds became to be known as the refuse and garbage in general of human beings.

I'll; probably regret this, but what's wrong with garbological?

I particularly like words that take the -age suffix which means (secundum AHD) variably: mass, collection sewerage; amount, footage; relationship, connection parentage; condition, state vagabondage; action blockage; result of action breakage; residence or place vicarage; charge, fee cartage. From (via French) the Latin abstract nominal suffix -aticum. I particularly like the sewing term selvage which does not end in this suffix, but is from Middle Low German self + egge (edge)'.

Interesting, WW. I just came in from my yard where I'd noticed the neighborhood chickens feasting in my compost pile. My thought on seeing this was "Go on, ya biddies. Add some fresh fertilizer to my compost" and then I opened this thread! Seems I'm in a sycronistic mode this week, more than normal...

It occurred to me that if one's logic is full of garbage, that it could be described as being garbological.

Good one, Wordwind.

It could also be described as "irr-trash-onal". [Oh, that stinks!]

It's almost as bad as "refuseable logic" -- which was my first choice.
