Although sushi, as a rule, doesn't come with a fortune cookie, the place I had take-out from did, indeed, include one with my meal. After eating, the ritual insued (everyone knows the fortune is negated if you don't eat the whole cookie), and lo and behold my fortune was BLANK.
I immediately stood up and shouted (to the half dozen or so people) in the room "I'M A FREE MAN... WOO-HOO". I'm usually an optimist, so how else would you expect me to interpret it?

Toast rôti; say hay.

What the...???
Thanks in advance?
Last evening brought:
"A good beginning is half done."
"You will be hungry in an hour."
"Help, I'm being held in a fortune cookie factory."
My last one said "Accept the next proposition you get." Now that could lead to all kinds of trouble.
I haven't found a Chinese take-out here, yet. I'll just have to recycle the last one I got at Dee's:
"Your many hidden talents will become obvious to those around you."
Oh, oh. I think that one might have come true back in June.
"Love truth but pardon error."
"Listen not to vain words of empty tongue."
