I dive into it, almost randomly, to find inspiration and fascination.
The book I mentioned in a different thread about ergodic fiction was discussing the non-linearity of print books (if you want) compared to text-based adventure games. Folks can both write (e.g., Burroughs, Cortazar) and read (e.g., you, eta) books non-linearly if they so choose.
