What is the origin of the New York City nickname, Gotham? I can't seem to find it anywhere.

Isn't Gotham the city in which Superman lives? I may be mixing up the cartoon character though.

Superman lives in Metropolis, it's Batman who lives in Gotham I think. Funny how there are no famous superheroes living in Spuzzum or Moosejaw.

Well, my favorite superheroes live in Frostbite Falls, Minnesota. Doesn't the Caped Crusader live in Gotham City?

Frostbite Falls

FWIW, the entire first season is out on DVD. We're laughing our way through it. Can't wait for the second: I think that's when the theme music changes (for the better).

Hmmmm, wasn't there a cartoon set in the Yukon. The main character was a Mountie.

Sgt. Preston of the Yukon (not a cartoon) was undoubtedly a point of reference for Dudley Do-right of the Mounties, part of the Rocky and Bullwinkle cartoon empire.

Urinalysis is correct. Unless you are using steaming video, in which case I don't want to know any more!

Oh, do keep going, Pfranz. You've got a great opener for the Bulwer-Lytton contest!
