Berocco, an italian yarn manufacturor has come out with a new line of knitting yarn, made from cotton and sythetic fibers, it has a soft fuzzy texture, and is supposed to imitate suede..
about caring for the fabric, they remind you in there advertizeing promotion:
"Like any authentic faux suede"...

A faux pas? Where did this new 'thing' of using faux where once we used either imitation or synthetic come from? I realise faux is shorter but somehow I don't think that is the reason. Still, nothing wrong with a little faux haute couture I suppose...

It can also disguise a lot of things that you don't want in the open - like a faux coiffure, I suppose.

It was a big room, this. Its owner.., perhaps too much under the spell of his architect, insisted on calling it the Grand Salon. This was simply French for Big Big Room; but it seemed a litlle bigger, and ever so much grander, when the French nomenclature was used.

I remember being told of some Persian rugs made of "Art Silk" which turned out to be short for artificial silk.
