Following her displeasure at the absence of a definite article before the name of my favourite football club, said club has just announced a new membership scheme. Its name? The Arsenal. Clearly, the word of an AWADtalk moderator has profound influence.

Heh heh heh, I just whispered in his ear what I'd do to you if they didn't change to doing it properly...

"whatever Lola wants, Lola gets, and little man, little Lola wants you!"
Song from a Broadway musical about baseball - name escapes me!

Damn Yankees! About the Washington Senators. Movie had choreography by Bob Fosse and starred Gwen Verdon as Lola. She and Ray Walston as the devil reprised their Broadway roles.

All I remember about that film is the song, Ray Walston and that I enjoyed it - don't even know why. Was it good?

I'm not a baseball fan, but it was a fun rental. The surreal scene on the dusty, baseball diamond with a bunch of tough-looking characters dancing like they were in some kind of Bob Fosse musical was fun. I did enjoy the Fosse choreography in Kiss Me Kate (originally shot in 3D!) and Pajama Game (based on the novel 7 1/2 Cents) better.

The very one. Thank you. It was driving me crazy trying to recall it.
