In a private post, some one asked me about my using the term "country matters" when I was, as Jackie would say, in the gutter.

I have never heard of laughed like a drain, (like a hyena maybe) and I am wondering if the country matters reference was one everyone understood.

I see it as positive re-frame– the same sort of behavior could put one in the gutter or in the country, and as for me, I'd rather be in the country!

It's Shakespearian– or at least as old as himself..
