Iraqi aphorism: the nail that sticks up gets hammered down.
I've heard the same quip
On the deck of a ship
But the nails give you claw
In a yaw.
the nail that sticks up gets hammered down.
Aye, but nails that are hammered down are the best in a pinch.
Hammering gives a nail better clench, wwh.
If you want to pull a nail, never improve it's clench.
Since there is no ruling elite to yaw with, I'll withdraw from y'all as well.
But we could(?) send a drone to circle the Throne. You never know. Any "Stranger" could be a drone.
A drone won't bite.
He'll just be polite.
But he knows how to send a message.
The ruling elite has feet of clay ... just like the rest of us. The only difference is their feet are stuck in more mud.
Which makes it harder for them to get away. How unfortugnat.
OP I want to leave "the ruling elite" with a fond chuckle to remember me by:

Fare thee well, tempting fare.
OP gnatural justice
Fare thee well
A gnat always wins in the end
However you scheme to defend
You can run for cover
But when you peek you'll discover
Another gnat is a gnat's best friend.
OP gnatural justice
Hasta la vista elite
Hasta la vista elite
May your rule be long and sweet
To the taste of a gnat
'Cause he knows where you're at
As long as you strut this beat.
If you wanna take a swing at a gnat
You're gonna need more than a bat.
OP It's already been done.
All's fare in love and war
Let's give credit where credit is due
It's the edible thing to do
The more elite who join in
The more fare to begin
the feasting ... and that includes you.
If you wanna take a swing at a gnat
You're gonna need more than a bat.
If they want to play with themselves, they shouldn't expect others to watch. It's unseemly.-grapho
At the risk of reanimating the multiheaded beast, I thought I might clarify for the newbies here that grapho, plutarch, moss, vbq, wordminstrel, et al are all the same person and seem to delight in playing with themselves in public and then complain loudly when the public rejects this and other antisocial behavior as unseemly. I, for one, have grown very tired of it.[/rant]
Please to remember the one and only rule of this board:
"Roolez? We doan need no steenkin roolez!"
At the risk of reanimating the multiheaded beast
The list would not be complete without Tang, Consuelo.
Thank you for providing an occasion for me to "reanimate".
It does get tiresome "playing with myself" [as you put it].
But Tang is only a drone.
A drone is alone amongst all those other beasts in being polite despite all provocations.
I do hope he will not be incited to call back his playmates for comic relief or gnatural justice.
