Belief in one god without denying the existence of others.
[Greek heno-, from hen, neuter of heis, one. + the (o)- + -ism.]
The definition provided is somewhat confusing. As I understand it, henotheism is the belief that there are many gods, but your allegiance should be given to only one of them.
