It took protracted cogitation before I could think of a way
to post about this word. How many parents among us have had
a small child become fixated on one toy, or a particular
blanket corner, which they clutch like Linus, and refuse
to surrender no matter how badly bedraggled it gets?

I had a small pink blanket as a child, "pinket".

and yes, I draggled it around until it was bedraggled.

I called my security blanket "way-way".
I crocheted a small blanket for my niece as a birth gift and she draggled it but good! I was called upon to "fix" it. It wasn't easy since the hole was quite large when I was presented with the task and I was unable to reconstruct it perfectly, but that was OK with her. That is, until she saw me crocheting another blanket in the same pattern and similar colors for another baby. The next time she saw me, she informed me that she no longer liked the blanket I'd made for her nor did she use it anymore. She made a face like this
