i own a copy of The Midnight Court... i read it in HS (when i had already read every text book issued cover to cover.. and was looking for something interesting to read.
parents and teachers (who had never heard of it) thought it was wonderful i was reading 'literature'-- i thought borderline pornography! (well it is 'racy') and i did have a somewhat sheltered upbringing... -and things were much more conservative in those days.
(it reminds me now of the great irish song that reminds:

* i forget the exact nonsense word.. something like that....the meaning is clear!
