OP Recently in the acronyms game, plastic was followed by elastic, and this got me thinking about the possibility for a new, hybrid game. I was thinking about blending the acronym game with the game invented by Lewis Caroll, where you change a word one letter at a time into another word. It occurred to me that making the one letter change and supplying an acronym for the changed word could be a bit more of a challenge. It could also be an interesting exercise in free association, an opportunity for totally spontaneous thread-drift, something that has never, ever happened here before.
So, here's my proposal:
We start with a word, and its acronym. Along with the initial word, a given number of steps. Then we just see where we end up.
In case anybody wants to have a go, here's a starter, for ten (steps, that is)
Wet
Inclement
Nasty
Torpid
Enervating
Relentless
