Well, well, they must have had a very interesting time over there! I just sent one of the er, riper expressions off to my friend; I'll be interested to see if I get a response.

No warning labels? No Terms of Acceptance in which one certifies that one is 18 years of age or older or living in a country where freedom is more than a slogan?

Thanks for the warning, Fong. You've reminded me that my server is located in the most liberal location on the planet - Tejas.

These may be representative examples of the language used by USAFSS personnel stationed in Japan but I hasten to assure you that members of the US Naval Security Group, similarly stationed, never said such naughty things.

We Navy types spent our time in cultural pursuits -- writing haiku, pruning our bonsai, and plotting how to beat the Army and Air Force teams at 8-man football.

Uh-huh. And, of course, writing haiku came No. 1 on that list, didn't it? I can just see it. (That's irony, ASp!)

Faldage trots out a lot of "odd" expressions -- when I ask him whence, he credits his time in the Navy. I just nod and say, "yes, dear."

thanks, Pfranz! I'm starting to get it!

Poor dear ... has "haiku" and "limerick" all confused. He must have been distracted from the pain of pruning his bonsai. That's gotta hurt.
